I visited Ramen Honden, located a 6-minute walk from Higashi-Jujo Station.
Since I preferred 200g of noodles, I ordered the mini ramen with 150g for 850 yen and added an extra 50g of noodles for 50 yen.
The noodles at Ramen Honden are thinner and softer compared to other Jiro-style ramen. I would have preferred them a bit thicker.
The soup has a seafood base and is creamy. Its flavor lacked the impact of the original Jiro.
Those who prefer a Jiro-inspired style, similar to Junk Garage, might enjoy it more than the original.
The chashu was tender and delicious, while the vegetables were average.
The garlic used was grated, not particularly assertive in flavor.
I increased the noodles to 200g, but they were so easy to eat that I felt I could have gone for 250g.
This ramen shop is recommended for those new to Jiro-style ramen.
