I went to Ikedayama, famous for X, located in Takadanobaba.
I arrived at 16:30 on a weekday, 30 minutes before the opening time, and there was already a queue.
I was the 14th in line. Being 14th, 30 minutes before opening, is quite formidable. Earlier than planned, at 16:53, the doors opened, and I went to buy my meal ticket.
You buy your meal ticket from a ticket machine. There’s only one button: small ramen for 1300 yen.
I chose vegetables, garlic, and fat as my free toppings.
I might have had my expectations too high, but for 1300 yen, it was average.
For someone like me who prefers softer noodles, they were a bit too firm.
I chose vegetables, garlic, and fat as my free toppings.
The chashu had a mix of tender and slightly firmer pieces, providing a nice contrast. The vegetables were crisp and delicious.
It’s not that it was bad, but considering the price of 1300 yen and comparing it with other Jiro-style ramens, a fair rating would be an average of 4.0.
It seems Ikedayama is constantly evolving, so I plan to visit again in 2025.
