I visited the Kawagoe branch of Ikebukuro Taishoken, which is located about a 5-minute walk from Minami-Furuya Station on the Saikyo Line.
I ordered the spicy ramen (ピリ辛ラーメン) for 950 yen.
The taste has significantly declined compared to how delicious it was until three years ago.
Previously, the noodles were thick and had a smooth texture, but now they feel rough and coarse.
It also seemed like the quantity of noodles has decreased considerably.
The soup, rather than being spicy, was just overly salty.
It also had a lot of black pepper in it from the start. Unfortunately, it wasn’t very tasty.
The chashu was quite thin. Previously, a flavored egg was included for free with the spicy ramen, but that’s no longer offered.
The photo below shows the spicy ramen from three years ago.
Next time, I plan to order either the Wonton Men for 920 yen or the spicy miso ramen for 950 yen. I won’t be ordering the spicy ramen again.
I went there at 18:00 on a weekday and there were only two other customers. I think they need to change the flavor.
However, the customer service was excellent. I’m rooting for them.
