I visited Menya Sho in Shinjuku, a ramen shop with a history of winning ramen awards. It’s a place that comes with high expectations.

You can choose between red miso and white miso for your ramen at Menya Sho. This time, I ordered the red miso ramen for 1000 yen, as it was the most prominently placed option on the ticket vending machine.

The noodles were curly, reminiscent of Sapporo miso ramen. They were on the firmer side, but well-suited to the soup.

The soup was rich and delicious.

The chashu was cut a bit small but was delicious. The bamboo shoots were somewhat tough to chew.
Manager Ohashi’s customer service was outstanding, demonstrating a level of dedication as if his life depended on the quality of the ramen.
Next time, I would like to try the white miso ramen.
